EcoPort

EcoPort – An international plant database.

Because all the information in EcoPort is assembled as the sum of the individual contributions of many authors, the data are collectively owned and maintained by a global community of biologists who share their professional expertise and experience. Individuals adopt entities (usually database records), in their particular specialties and enter state-of-knowledge information about them. Any one contributor has access to the sum of all similar contributions and the sum of all information constitutes the EcoPort public “knowledge commons”.

The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,753 groups with 6,770,000 members across the globe. It’s a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them’s good people). Membership is free. To sign up, find your community by entering it into the search box above or by clicking on “Browse Groups” above the search box. Have fun!
