I have just discovered this wonderful Google tool. You can just take a photo of a flower (e.g.) and then drag-n-drop it onto the Google image search bar. Google does the rest!
The Google search results show you instances of that image (or similar) to help you find websites that could name that flower.

I LOVE this! Thankyou so much for giving me another nail in the coffin of days spent searching for “what plant is that”? I just passed it on to my constant readers on my blog and hope that any other quintessential knowlege magpies like myself are able to stumble on this great way to simplify (and hopefully shorted) future plant searches. Thank you SOOOO much for this

Thanks David – very nifty trick!
From a few quick test runs, this works great for some things and is really helpful, but for others brings up quite amusing results – like for my photo of a diamond weevil insect, the first result was a man dressed in green with a parachute, and the others metal sculptures and trees hehehe!
Cheers,
Ally
