Swales are an excellent technique in rainwater harvesting. Theycapture surface runoff and send it deep into the aquifer, both nourishing trees and reducing erosion. The berms beneath them make great fertile planting beds. And best of all, swales can be dug by hand and cost you nothing.

About Me
I love permaculture! To help others learn a bit more about permaculture, I have built a blog to support other peoples efforts and provide links to useful resources that are online.I always link my posts [at the bottom of each post] to the content's source as I do not write the material provided. I just gather useful permaculture content for others to use in their own research.
I only ask that you please respect the source/owner of the original work where possible.
I hope it can help you in your permaculture quest!
